Summary:

TAG Solutions is seeking a talented Business Development Manager with a unique blend of technical expertise and account management skills to join our team. In this role, you will service industrial customers seeking to execute automation projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, interact with clients, and drive business growth while enjoying access to technology applied to automotive, packaging, material handling & logistics, robotics, and commercial equipment. This role is Remote to the Eastern part of the United States.

An engineering background is necessary in conjunction with experience selling system integration services and turnkey projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the industrial automation industry
  • Possess a strong understanding of technically complex products and services
  • Qualify sales opportunities prior to presentation to Engineering
  • Follow up on all leads from partners, suppliers and website within 24 hours
  • Facilitate presale discussions between Sales and Engineering to progress opportunities
  • Successfully manage a complex sales process for capital equipment and services
  • Deliver effective technical presentations demonstrating the capabilities of TAG Solutions
  • Utilize CRM database (e.g. Salesforce), as well as other sales tools
  • Provide monthly forecasts and activity reports of the opportunity pipeline
  • Accurately manage the sales pipeline activities by managing existing customers and continuously working to expand the customer base

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience selling engineered systems utilizing one or more of the following industrial automation technologies; Vision, Robotics, Controls
  • BS degree in an engineering specialty with a preference towards Electrical or Mechanical engineering
  • Familiarity with automation brands typically utilized by TAG Solutions including:
    • Robotics: Epson, Universal Robots, MiR, FANUC, Kawasaki
    • Machine Vision: Cognex, LMI, SICK, Teledyne
    • Controls: Emerson, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Horner
  • Understanding of basic electrical design principles using software applications such as AutoCAD
  • Understanding of basic mechanical design principles using software application such as Fusion 360
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
  • Help promote a sales-focused culture within the engineering team to better identify and communicate sales opportunities as they interact with existing customers
  • Work remotely out of a home office with occasional travel to the Charlotte North Carolina headquarters location
  • Some overnight travel is required to customer sites, trade shows or training.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license
  • All other duties as assigned or necessary
