Dozer Operator - Heavy Industry / Mining

Experience and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment, with demonstrated proficiency in trenching and shoring practices.
• Ability to accurately maintain time and material records.
• Strong understanding of both verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of soil classification and completion of Competent Person training.

What you will do:

The Dozer Operator is responsible for operating track dozers of various sizes to perform earthmoving tasks on construction sites. This includes grading, slope creation, backfilling, and site preparation to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. The role requires a strong understanding of construction site safety, equipment maintenance, and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew under limited supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate track dozers to move earth, grade surfaces, and create slopes according to project specifications.
• Perform site preparation, backfilling, and final grading on construction sites.
• Ensure safe operation of equipment in proximity to other workers, utilities, and structures.
• Inspect equipment daily and perform basic maintenance, report mechanical issues to supervisors.
• Read and interpret grade stakes, site plans, and verbal instructions.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings and communicate effectively with ground crews and spotters.
• Follow all company safety protocols and MSHA regulations.
• Assist with other duties on the job site as needed.
