Job Summary:

The Electrician II is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. The role also includes setup and breakdown of specialized equipment, such as basketball scoring systems and live event technology.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in troubleshooting electrical systems and possess a strong understanding of lighting systems and controls. Work may take place indoors or outdoors across various Atlanta Hawks-operated locations.

This position requires physical activity, including climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, operating at elevated heights, and exposure to electrical hazards. Therefore, a strong commitment to safety protocols is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Installation & Repair

  • Install and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and control systems
  • Inspect and repair electrical components, including circuit breakers, transformers, and fixtures
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and make repairs as needed
  • Maintain and upgrade existing electrical systems
  • Perform routine maintenance and preventative checks to avoid system failures.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code and local regulations
  • Properly lock out/tag out equipment
  • Ensure work meets Electrician 2 standards and State Farm Arena safety regulations

Technical Documentation

  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and equipment schematics
  • Document work performed via the work order system

Event and Facility Support

  • Control lighting throughout the facility with lighting control systems
  • Provide electrical support for events hosted at the arena

Project Support

  • Collaborate with contractors and other job site professionals
  • Provide direct support during major work projects (e.g., switchgear, motor control centers)
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (trade school preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years in the commercial electrical field
  • Must have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Must demonstrate a detailed working knowledge of systems and structures, tools, testing instruments, and proper procedures related to the maintenance and repair of commercial building equipment and systems.
  • Must be a self-starter and motivated.
  • Must be a team player
  • Must complete assigned tasks and duties on schedule with minimum supervision
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must be able to complete work orders accurately
  • Must be able to travel to various locations throughout the facility and grounds
  • Must be able to be on call when needed
  • Must be able to work any schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, etc.)
  • Must be comfortable working at elevated heights
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electrical license
  • Journeymen certificate
  • Forklift certification
  • MEWP certification
  • NFPA 70E training
