Austin Industrial is currently seeking a Carpenter to join our staff located at Franklin, VA. They must be able to play a hands-on role in maintaining and constructing the physical infrastructure that supports the plant's operations. Other duties may be assigned.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build and repair structures: Work on wooden and metal frameworks, partitions, and platforms used throughout the facility.
- Install and maintain flooring, doors, and windows: Ensure safe and functional access points and surfaces.
- Support equipment installations: Assist with mounting or framing around machinery and HVAC systems.
- Work with blueprints and schematics: Interpret technical drawings to execute precise builds and repairs.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams: Coordinate with electricians, welders, and mechanics to support broader facility upkeep.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Experience - 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing is required with experience in either Pulp or Power operations.
- Proficiency in carpentry techniques and tools
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Physical stamina for lifting, standing, and working in various conditions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Willing and able to work in shop settings and field environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Meet physical demands as listed above
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed by the assigned location
- Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment
