Austin Industrial is currently seeking a Carpenter to join our staff located at Franklin, VA. They must be able to play a hands-on role in maintaining and constructing the physical infrastructure that supports the plant's operations. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Build and repair structures: Work on wooden and metal frameworks, partitions, and platforms used throughout the facility.
• Install and maintain flooring, doors, and windows: Ensure safe and functional access points and surfaces.
• Support equipment installations: Assist with mounting or framing around machinery and HVAC systems.
• Work with blueprints and schematics: Interpret technical drawings to execute precise builds and repairs.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams: Coordinate with electricians, welders, and mechanics to support broader facility upkeep.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience - 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing is required with experience in either Pulp or Power operations.
• Proficiency in carpentry techniques and tools
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Physical stamina for lifting, standing, and working in various conditions
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Willing and able to work in shop settings and field environment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• Meet physical demands as listed above
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed by the assigned location
• Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment
