Ascent Chemicals is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead growth in the CASE segment. This individual will play a key role in driving revenue and margin expansion through strategic account management, new business development, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of the CASE market, a track record of solving real customer problems, and a proven track record of translating customer needs into commercial wins.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Growth & Leadership
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies aligned with CASE growth targets, pricing discipline, and gross margin improvement
- Identify, prioritize, and pursue new customer and market opportunities with strong value-creation potential
- Monitor competitive activity and industry trends to proactively shape commercial strategy
Account Management & Customer Success
- Manage strategic accounts and build multi-level relationships that foster loyalty, cross-selling, and recurring revenue
- Translate customer technical and performance needs into actionable solutions by working closely with applications and product teams
Commercial Execution & Negotiation
- Own pricing strategy and lead negotiations, balancing margin goals with customer value
- Maintain a dynamic sales pipeline, forecast accurately, and align internal resources through structured sales planning
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Innovation
- Partner with R&D, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams to commercialize new products and ensure customer fit
- Support product development roadmaps with real-time voice-of-customer feedback and technical insight
Industry Engagement & Thought Leadership
- Represent Ascent at key industry events and conferences to build visibility, generate leads, and position the brand as a technical leader
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline (Master’s or MBA preferred)
- 7+ years of B2B sales or business development experience in specialty chemicals—ideally in CASE or adjacent markets
- Proven success leading complex negotiations and growing high-value technical accounts
- Strong analytical acumen with experience in opportunity sizing, pricing strategy, and margin improvement
- Comfortable working across technical, regulatory, and commercial teams; CRM proficiency preferred
