JOB DESCRIPTION

The Center for Remote Health Monitoring at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic research project manager to join our interdisciplinary team. The project manager will be responsible for developing, launching, and scaling activities within the Center for Remote Health Monitoring that reach teammates across Advocate Health including our seminar series, rewired build-a-thon events, pilot programs, and mentorship programs. The project manager will also contribute to ongoing, and dynamic research programs within the Center that are at the forefront of our field. Current projects include efforts to develop digital biomarkers of balance and mobility impairment for use as novel endpoints in clinical trials or as a key component of digital therapeutics for fall prevention, to identify effective digital health strategies for helping adults of every age develop and sustain healthy behaviors, to detect the presence of mental health disorders in young children rapidly at the point of care, and to manage and prevent panic attacks wherever and whenever they occur. The project manager will also contribute to projects across the research enterprise leveraging remote patient monitoring technologies (e.g., wearables, mobile apps). Outcomes from their work will directly impact research and patient care within theevolving integrated healthcare system, which is currently caring for more than seven million patients in Illinois, Georgia, Alabama, Wisconsin, and the Carolinas.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

2+ years of relevant administrative experience in research projects or other health-related activities, or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., master's degree in psychology, nursing, or similar health science) and experience. Experience managing institutional review board (IRB) applications and recruiting research participants is required. At least one year of experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Lead operational activities of the Center for Remote Health Monitoring including planning, organizing, executing, and scaling events; developing and documenting Center processes and procedures; training Center staff; managing and expanding Center communication channels including the website, social media, etc.; developing Center content; contributing to strategic planning; etc. Mentors clinical studies coordinators in effective human subjects research processes and procedures.

Oversees the operational activities at the clinical site(s) and coordinates the activities of a multi-center study or multiple large research studies involving human subjects.

Collaborates with principal investigator(s) in developing plans for research projects and to discuss the interpretation of results.

Negotiates protocol changes with funding agency/sponsor and/or IRB.

Assumes major responsibility for the successful and timely completion of the tasks that comprise the implementation and analysis phases of a multi-center study or multiple studies Including planning, development, implementation, execution, and evaluation.

Coordinates the hiring of and direction to support staff. Plans and coordinates training sessions for project personnel located at the different clinical sites, oversees and conducts recruitment, data management, and follow-up activities.

Translates planning and design decisions into concrete activities and tasks for project implementation, sets priorities for project implementation.

Evaluates and interprets collected clinical data.

Manages the preparation of progress reports and quality control monitoring.

Participates in the analysis of study data and the writing of scientific papers for publication.

Develops data collection forms, procedural manuals, and other documents required for project implementation and evaluation. Ensures that all aspects of the following are completed:

Study is conducted in accordance to the study contract

Legal aspects adhere to state and federal regulations and guidelines.

Study complies with requirements of the Medical School and the University

Technical requirements of the funding agency are met, including auditing, data management, and data sharing requirements.

Conducts site visits to evaluate staff and study activities, and coordinates sponsor audits.

Represents the project at all related community agencies and organizations. serving as the studys liaison, spokesperson, and representative.

Conducts meetings and visits with potential study sponsors to promote WFUSM as a study site.

Attends and participates in national and local meetings related to the planning, operation, and evaluation of the study.

Assists PI in designing and implementing future studies due to extensive knowledge in the specific field of research.

Responsible for developing and monitoring the study budget(s). Compiles and prepares financial progress reports. Tracks payments by sponsors, assuring correct amount received for each participant and testing session.

Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Pay Range

$32.45 - $48.70
