Job Description
Elite Millwork Installation Inc. has established a reputation for outstanding quality and service as interior finishing and millwork contractor. Company is located at 806-95 E 1st Ave, Vancouver, BC and the workplace depends on the construction site in Lower Mainland. We currently looking for one cabinetmaker who can join our team as soon as possible. This is a full time, permanent position for mature individuals with a cabinetmaker related background. We offer competitive wage rate. All applicants should be able to communicate in English. However, given the demographics in Lower Mainland, ability to communicate in a second language will be an asset.

As cabinetmaker you will be responsible to construct and repair wooden cabinets, furniture, fixtures and related products in commercial and residential projects. This role will perform all but not limited to the following duties:
Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made, or prepare specifications
Mark outlines or dimensions of parts on wood
Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, and use hand tools to cut, shape and form parts and components
Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit using glue and clamps and reinforce joints using nails, screws or other fasteners
Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products
Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures and related products
Instruct younger workers
Maintain clean and safe work environment

Job Requirements

Education
Completion of High school
Experience
Though a formal trade certificate is not required, we require
At least 3 years of work experience as cabinetmaker

Essential Skills
Able to use hand and power tools safely
Ability to perform measuring, sizing, and cutting tasks
Ability to trouble shoot and repair a wide variety of problems in residential setting
Ability to safely lift, carry and move standard construction material and tools
Must be able to work without supervision and as part of a team
Ability to work with precision and good organizational skills
Be self-motivated, punctual, reliable and hardworking
Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
Ability to commute to any of our site locations throughout Lower Mainland
Own tools and equipment required

Compensation:
-Salary: $38 per hour
-WCB
-Vacation: 10 days per year
