Welder 1 Description

Keller Electrical a division of OTC Industrial is looking for a Welder/Fabricator 1 for our Mechanical Services division. While our main shop is located in Phoenix, Arizona the person who is selected for this full-time position will be working at job sites located in Northern Arizona.

Competitive Pay: This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $24.00-$28.00, depending on experience and qualifications.

Welder requirements:

  • Must have experience with MIG, TIG and Stick welding processes and working towards D1.1 certification
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Must be able to read a tape measure accurately
  • Must be mechanically minded with experience in cutting, shaping and assembling metal components
  • Understand different types of metals and their properties
  • Have knowledge in the use of basic fabrication and welding equipment including iron-workers, saws, grinders, drill press, plasma cutters, Oxy-Fuel Torches and basic hand tools
  • Assist with rigging equipment and rigging operations small and large
  • Operate mobile equipment forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts
  • Work safely and productively at all times while adhering to Keller Safety Policies
  • Maintain Minimum Tool List
  • Maintain personal welder PPE

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or constant loud noise
  • Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 60%) of job
  • Work environment can involve exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment

General Requirements:

  • Be self-sufficient, have excellent problem-solving skills, and work efficiently with a high level of accuracy
  • Be willing to travel to different locations throughout Arizona
  • MSHA certification a plus
  • Have a professional demeanor and the ability to work with others
  • Have a clean MVR, valid driver's license, and reliable transportation
  • Drug screen and background check required for employment
  • 3-5yrs experience required
  • Wages DOE
