Primary purpose: To fabricate interior and exterior doors and door frames while performing general warehouse duties. This role requires welding, carpentry, and organizational skills to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient fabrication and installation of metal doors and frames.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Service Execution: Install and service commercial steel/wood doors, frames, and architectural hardware in accordance with project specifications.
  • Onsite Modifications: Perform field modifications on steel doors and frames when necessary using proper tools and methods.
  • Field Repairs & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair existing openings and products during service calls; determine and execute the best course of action.
  • Customer Service: Maintain professional appearance and demeanor while working onsite with clients; ensure minimal disruption during installation or service.
  • Service Documentation: Manage personal schedule, document activities accurately, and communicate status updates in a timely manner.
  • Safety Compliance: Carry out all tasks in compliance with company and jobsite safety policies and procedures.
  • Problem Escalation: Communicate with the Project Manager or Salesperson regarding jobsite issues, delays, or material needs before, during, and after service.
  • Product Coordination: Collaborate with Service Manager or Salesperson to request or order necessary materials or products.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of commercial mechanical hardware, doors, and frames.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years' carpentry or relevant field experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Strong troubleshooting ability and comfort using a variety of tools and equipment.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to follow written, visual (drawings/images), and verbal instructions clearly.
  • Dependability: Demonstrates punctuality, attention to detail, and the ability to manage independent work.
  • Teamwork: Works effectively alone and with team members on varied job sites.
  • Physical Requirements: Capable of lifting at least 50 lbs. unassisted, working overhead, climbing, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials for extended periods.
  • Licensing: Valid driver's license required for travel to job sites.
