SUMMARY:

The foreman is a dynamic leader with a strong technical background in electrical construction, skilled in coordinating materials, equipment, and personnel to ensure smooth project execution.

This position has been designated as safety sensitive. It is a position that includes tasks and duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee or others. The position requires the employee's full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute all job responsibilities.

Manages projects of up to 15,000 man-hours annually, supervising 5-10 employees while maintaining an 80% productivity level.

Has four years of experience in electrical construction, including one year at the JW level or higher, and has completed Ludvik Leader 1 training.

Demonstrates strong scheduling skills by providing accurate 3-week man-loaded schedules and maintaining quality oversight on installations.

Effectively orders and tracks materials, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with contract specifications.

Mentors and develops journeymen and apprentices, showcasing leadership in diverse project scopes.

Communicates confidently with other trades and completes daily logs without reminders, ensuring minimal rework and smooth project execution.

Field Productivity

Supervision and Monitoring: Provides first-line supervision for Journeymen and Apprentices, overseeing their daily productivity and consulting with supervisors to make necessary adjustments.

Layout Coordination: Responsible for complete layout coordination by creating detailed sketches for installation, checking feeder schedules for wire and conduit specifications.

Quality Control: Manages installation quality and resolves any issues faced by Journeymen and Apprentices, ensuring proper methods are followed.

Safety and Compliance: Ensures safe work practices and that all tasks remain within the contract scope, obtaining supervisor authorization for any changes.

Documentation and Coordination: Completes daily field reports and maintains a written log while coordinating work with other trades to prevent delays.

Schedule

Carries out scheduled activities as directed by the supervisor, staying on track with project goals.

Alerts the supervisor to any delays or challenges that might impact tasks, helping to keep the Project Schedule Log up-to-date and on point.

Material Management:

Strategic Material Management: Plans bulk purchases of miscellaneous materials, verify wire lengths for efficiency, and ensures all delivered items meet job specifications, promptly notifying the supervisor of any damage or shortages.

Efficient Inventory Control: Unloads and securely stores materials, checking them against purchase orders, and regularly returns unused items and tools to the staging area or Main Warehouse.

Other Project Duties:

Safety and Communication: Leads weekly safety meetings, documenting attendees and any issues, while ensuring all comments from subcontractor meetings are recorded and addressed with the Project Coordinator or Project Manager.

Timely Reporting: Submits accurate time tickets and injury reports promptly and maintains up-to-date as-built drawings in line with specifications.

Proactive Problem-Solving: Conducts daily meetings with the supervisor to tackle ongoing challenges and consistently updates and completes punch lists to eliminate loose ends as the project progresses.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Must have knowledge of the National Electrical Code.

Commercial and Industrial electrical experience.

Must have good communication and organizational skills.

Must have knowledge and ability in MS Word/Excel/Email.
