Senior Civil/Structural Engineer 2 - Government Services

This is a senior-level design engineering position that offers a variety of challenging opportunities in Civil/Structural Engineering and will provide an excellent opportunity for career advancement.

  • Support Civil and/or Structural design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team.
  • Under supervision, responsible for production of engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings, specifications, and engineering reports. Ensure that calculations and deliverables are technically sound and in accordance with project requirements
  • Apply civil and structural engineering principles to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and components.
  • Attend project meetings and perform field walk downs
  • Mentor junior engineers
Qualifications

Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance
  • BSCE, BSSE, or BSME degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program; MS degree preferred
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in civil and structural engineering
  • Experience with producing engineering designs for foundations, structures, and support structures
  • Familiarity with design codes such as ACI, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISC
  • Familiarity with structural analysis software such as ANSYS or SAP2000 or equivalent

Valued but not required skills and experience:

  • P.E. license
  • Multiple years of experience in a nuclear environment (DOE preferred, commercial or Navy), highly desirable
  • Structural Engineering (SE) Licensure
  • Field Engineering and Construction Experience

Compensation Range $95,840.00 - $147,870.00 Transparency Statement Sargent & Lundy discloses compensation ranges that comply with all local and state regulations. The total compensation package for eligible positions will include a base salary or an hourly rate and a comprehensive benefits package, reflecting our commitment to rewarding performance and supporting the overall well-being of our employees. Individuals may also be eligible to participate in our yearly discretionary bonus. About This Business Unit

Sargent & Lundys Government Services Division provides cutting-edge engineering design and consulting support to the management and operating contractors for US Department of Energy (DOE) sites and national laboratories. Specifically, we support the DOE Environmental Management Directorate as well as the National Nuclear Security Administration laboratories and sites. What does this mean? You can be a part of multi-discipline design teams supporting projects cleaning up the environmental damage associated with the legacy nuclear weapons production complex and/or preserving our countrys nuclear deterrent.
