As a Material Handler, youll play a vital role in our operations while gaining hands-on experience and expanding your skill set. Many of our team members have used this role as a springboard to advance their careers within Star Lumber, growing into leadership and specialized positions.
Responsibilities
Pull and stage building material products (lumber, cabinets, windows, doors, decking, siding)
Safely load and unload materials on a variety of truck types including semi, box trucks and flat beds
Assist customers with loading materials
Accurately complete shipping and inventory documents
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
Adhere to all safety procedures and personal protection equipment (PPE) requirements
Work outdoors in various weather conditions while staying adaptable and prepared
RequirementsExperience working in a warehouse or distribution center
Permanent authorization to work in the United States
18 Years or older
Reliable transportation
Physical capability to lift 50 lbs repetitively and up to 100 lbs in a team lift
Commitment to safety and teamwork
Availability to work during operating hours, M-F 7a-6p and Saturdays from 7a-12p - Overtime as needed
Preferred Experience
Knowledge of lumber and building materials
Forklift operation experience
Familiarity with (WMS) Warehouse Management Systems
