Traveling Heavy Equipment Operator Job Description We are seeking a skilled Traveling Heavy Equipment Operator with over 8 years of experience in operating full-size excavators and equipment around underground utilities. The ideal candidate must be willing to travel between Knoxville and surrounding areas including KY, VA, IL, NC, GA, and more. A strong work ethic and effective communication skills with other on-site workers are essential. Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, and backhoes safely and efficiently. Perform grading, excavation, trenching, and fine grading tasks. Work around underground utilities with precision and caution. Travel to various construction sites across multiple states Collaborate effectively with other site workers to ensure project success. Must Have Skills 8+ years of experience with full-size excavators. Proficiency in operating heavy equipment including dozers and backhoes. Experience with civil site and civil construction projects. Strong communication skills. Knowledge of underground utility operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with track hoes and earthworks. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, Tennessee. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
