Heavy Equipment Mechanic**
$28 - $33/hr | Indianapolis, IN (Close to airport)
**Responsibilities**
+ Heavy equipment mechanics with 35 years of experience
+ Diagnose and repair heavy equipment in the shop, including hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems.
+ Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventive services to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
+ Test and rebuild components such as engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
+ Accurately document service work, including diagnostics, repairs, parts used, and labor hours.
+ Order necessary parts and manage returns, core returns, and warranty claims.
+ Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
+ Collaborate with service advisors and other technicians to ensure timely and efficient job completion.
+ Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE and compliance with OSHA standards.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work environment following 5S principles.
+ Provide technical support and mentorship to junior technicians.
+ Stay current with manufacturer training and certifications
+ Communicate effectively with internal teams and occasionally with customers regarding service status and recommendations.
+ Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shop efficiency and customer satisfaction.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
+ Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally heavier with assistance.
+ Requires standing, bending, climbing, and working in confined spaces for extended periods.
+ Frequent use of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and heavy machinery.
