You will ensure wells and pumps are functioning correctly using hand and power tools for maintenance purposes, and documenting findings on a company-provided laptop. Responsibilities Maintain the gas collection system to meet performance standards through timely and cost-effective operations and maintenance. Perform monthly monitoring of the wellfield, including liquid level measurements in gas extraction wells and monitoring perimeter probes for surface emissions. Conduct routine maintenance activities, such as cleaning and maintaining pneumatic pumps, HDPE pipe welding, blower/flare operations, and maintenance of the condensate management system. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards by participating in regular meetings and developing/maintaining operating records. Report field conditions and test results to the supervisor and, in some instances, the client. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude Experience in outdoor work and construction Ability to work in various weather conditions Technology proficiency, particularly in data entry and Microsoft Office Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in landfill operations and inspections Environmental awareness Maintenance repair skills Proficiency with hand tools Why Work Here? You will be exposed to the elements, but will have a company vehicle for cover or to adjust temperatures. The work involves uneven terrain and walking at an incline/decline, with the smell of sulfur from the landfill. You must be able to work outdoors for 8+ hours. Shifts rotate every few months, primarily on the 1st shift: Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM. The company provides a $100 Red Wing Boot voucher for steel-toed boots. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brook, Indiana. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
