Performs plumbing projects, scheduled preventive maintenance and repair to any type of water usage equipment or vessel in order to keep the hospital operating normally and to ensure proper patient care and comfort. Provides plumbing to and from new equipment to confirm to current codes. In addition, the Plumber is responsible to assist with general security duties, respond to all security alerts, fires, and disasters (i.e.; Disasters Levels I, II, III, and IV, etc.).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.
Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.
Demonstrates/models the Networks Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).
Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.
Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.
Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.
Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.
Be able to install, repair, and maintain various parts and components of equipment within the facilities.
Perform preventative maintenance checks on all equipment.
Have knowledge of general commercial building maintenance.
Be skilled in the operation of all tools within the trades.
Be able to activate and deactivate the hospital fire system.
Be able to read blueprints, etc.
Be able to requisition material as needed.
Be able to complete applicable paperwork
Complete jobs thoroughly and accurately in a timely manner.
Cooperates with other department and work groups.
Works independently, in a safe and appropriate manner. Demonstrates both problem solving/problem prevention skills equal to the expected level of responsibility to their jobs

OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Maintains shop and work areas in neat and orderly fashion
Assists the Facilities Director as needed
Other related duties as assigned
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Requires standing for up to 8 hours per day and walking for up to 4 hours per day, sitting for extended periods of up to 2 hours, lifting loads of up to 60 lbs., pushing loads up to 300 lbs, bending, crouching, reaching, twisting, climbing (stairs and ladders), and manual dexterity to make equipment repairs. Seeing as it relates to normal vision and hearing as it relates to normal hearing.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must possess the ability to work directly from prints and initiate independent action when required.
2. Must possess current PA drivers license.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent certificate (G.E.D.)
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience must include all phases of plumbing installation and repairs and in-depth
knowledge of plumbing codes. Minimum three years trade school and five years experience.
