OverviewHampton Lumber is seeking a Project Manager to join our team in Allendale, SC, as we build a state-of-the-art Comact sawmill. This role will be a boots-on-the-ground liaison, working closely with our Northwest based engineering team, contractors, and Hampton leadership to ensure the successful execution of this major capital project. The Project Manager will oversee the coordination of site activities, manage schedules, budgets, and resources, and ensure best practices are implemented to support safety, quality, and productivity throughout the build.

- Serve as the on-site project liaison between Hampton Lumber leadership, engineering teams, and construction partners.
- Coordinate all phases of construction, ensuring work is executed per design specifications, schedule, and budget.
- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of project best practices that impact safety, quality, and productivity.
- Manage daily communication and coordination with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, track budgets, and report deviations from the Approved Spending Estimate (ASE).
- Prepare and manage bid packages, contracts, and project documentation.
- Organize and enforce safety orientations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Resolve on-site challenges, including conflicting design requirements, material suitability, and construction issues.
- Oversee scheduling and implementation of work to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Maintain communication with local and state regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with permits and codes.
- Review and approve construction drawings and ensure adherence to Hampton Lumber standards.
- Evaluate new equipment and technologies to support project success.
- Apply Construction Standards, OSHA regulations, and Building Codes throughout all project phases.
- S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
- 4-8 years of experience in project management, engineering, or construction within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of sawmill equipment, machinery controls, and fabrication processes.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale capital projects from concept to completion.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Advanced understanding of machinery design, pneumatics, hydraulics, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with site operations, vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
