Electrical Superintendent Conventional Power

Location: Project location TBD (requires mobilization to site)
Initial Phase: 6 months of project planning based in Kansas City
Per Diem: $132.12/day (non-taxed) while in Kansas City; $173/day (taxed) at project site
Preferred Experience: Union or union management; electrical superintendent experience in conventional power projects

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Construction Manager to ensure compliance with safety, quality, ethics, lessons learned, and performance standards across site operations.

  • Monitor construction activities for compliance with CPM schedules, tracking milestones and commodity installations.

  • Collaborate with craft teams, subcontractors, and other superintendents to resolve drawing, schedule, quality, and cost issues.

  • Lead productivity tracking, cost reporting, and progress analysis, taking corrective action to meet targets.

  • Develop and maintain 3-Week Look Ahead schedules, ensuring required resources are available.

  • Manage subcontractor performance, compliance, and relationships; coordinate extra work requests and contractor information responses.

  • Oversee work package execution, major equipment installations, job hazard analyses, and punch list completion.

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management to direct reports.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years in industrial construction, including large-scale electrical systems.

  • Proficiency in budgets, scheduling, work package planning, and crew management (50+ union craft).

  • Experience with large electrical equipment installations (PDC, GSU, UAT, ISO Phase), cable management, and terminations.

  • Strong knowledge of union agreements, labor relations, EPC/subcontract contracts, and construction standards.

  • OSHA 10 certification (minimum); OSHA 40 preferred.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, climb ladders/scaffolding, and perform physical labor for extended shifts.

  • Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions, variable lighting, and around hazardous equipment.

Education:

  • Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.

  • Training in contract administration, cost control, industrial relations, safety, and quality management desirable.

  • Minimum 3 years as a Superintendent on similar projects in a supervisory role.
