Summary:
The Project Manager will assist with coordination, quality control and assurance, technical oversight and successful completion of multidisciplinary projects varying in size and complexity at both the SSMH and Off-Site facilities. Responsibilities include project scope development, resource planning and allocation, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and management of engineering and construction Contractors as the Owners Representative. Typical projects include facility remodeling, refurbishment, major repairs, and new construction, all focused on enhancing and/or expanding high quality healthcare delivery.
Essential Job Functions:
Works closely with ASNA Administration, Facilities Management (SSMH and Offsite), staff skilled tradesmen, staff engineering, and Contractor personnel as key stakeholders and resources in the execution of projects.
May be assigned as project Single Point of Contact (SPOC) and Owners Representative in project definition, front-end and detailed design engineering phases, construction, commissioning/start-up, and close-out.
May serve as the technical point of contact with multiple departments providing technical/engineering recommendations for project and non-project related requests.
Effectively communicates with ASNA and contract entities/personnel to ensure project objectives, requirements, and specifications are established and clearly understood to mitigate design re-work and construction clarifications/design change requests.
Responsible for project estimating and coordination of costs with ASNA personnel for financial planning and resource allocation.
Works closely with ASNA materials and purchasing for coordination of Owner-provided material.
Establishes project schedules and manages milestone completions.
Establishes regular project review meetings and reports progress.
Actively anticipates and manages project design and construction challenges.
Facilitates and assists with Owners review of engineering design packages, engineered equipment, and construction product/component submittals.
Responsible for frequent on-site walkthroughs and inspections during construction phase project activities for correct installation and quality control.
Monitors quality control/quality assurance for project related activities.
Responsible for post-construct inspection and monitoring of new facilities to maintain LEED certification.
Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED completion.
- Four (4) years of work experience in engineering, maintenance or construction required.
- Two (2) years of project management experience required.
- Computer literacy is required.
Certification/Licensure:
Valid Alaska Drivers License.
