Mechanical Technician
Job Description
The Mechanical Technician will effectively manage schedules and priorities with moderate daily direction to meet schedule objectives. This role involves material handling, installation, and integration of mechanical cooling systems, and operating hand and power tools to complete mechanical assemblies.
Responsibilities
- Manage schedule and priorities with moderate daily direction to meet objectives.
- Handle materials including receipt and inspection of components.
- Install and integrate mechanical cooling systems using a combination of COTS and custom mechanics.
- Operate hand and power tools to complete mechanical assemblies as specified by prints, schematics, and BOMs.
- Prepare and assemble plumbing components for pressure testing and various chiller systems.
- Perform general fluid system maintenance, reconfiguration, and analysis.
- Change filters and replace components like pumps and fittings as needed.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools.
- Strong mechanical skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in bending stainless steel tubing.
- Ability to prepare quick disconnect tubing runs.
Work Environment
The work environment involves developing the next generation of National Defense High Energy Laser (HEL) technologies. The HEL Weapon systems are designed to be rugged and compact, capable of thriving in the most challenging environments. Technicians will play a crucial role in the success of this system through hands-on assembly of parts.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
