Position Summary:
Under moderate supervision work to support engineers and production teams in designing, testing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing systems and equipment. This role combines hands-on technical work with analytical tasks to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective production processes.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Works with direction from manufacturing engineering to assist with process change implementation.
- Works with direction from manufacturing engineering to establish and coordinate part flow from backshop into the assembly process.
- Work alongside engineering to troubleshoot equipment issues and provide technical support to production teams.
- Schedule and assist with performing preventative maintenance on production equipment.
- Serve as a backup to nesting and dxf import, and prototype fixturing/tooling.
- Assist with manufacturing engineering to verify nesting and material optimization.
- Capture and collect data through RF scanners and enter into various databases.
- Train operators on standard operating procedures and put together best practices.
- Perform time studies to determine optimization for product flow.
- Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's):
- Knowledge in CAD software to create technical drawings and 3D models.
- Ability to read and technically interpret engineering drawings. Able to read and understand technical manuals.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, sheet metal fabrication, and machinist experience preferred.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Able to understand verbal and written instructions. Reading and comprehension of work related materials.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED certificate required. Associate degree in manufacturing technology, mechanical engineering, or related field.
Knowledge of press brake, and laser operations preferred.
Working Conditions:
Manufacturing setting.
Frequent standing and walking on concrete surface.
