The Submarine Technical Support Center (STSC) in Groton, CT is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear-Trained Electrical Technician with Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) expertise. You'll work alongside seasoned professionals to maintain and enhance the warfighting capability of 688/726/21/774 class submarines.
What You'll Do
Provide hands-on technical support across a wide range of submarine systems:
Power generation & distribution (60/400Hz, SSMG, SSTG, diesel generators)
Electrical controls for ventilation, steering/diving, trim/drain, HPAC, and mor
ICCP systems, radiometric thermal imaging, and shaft grounding
PLC microprocessor controllers for hydraulic, refrigeration, and sanitation systems
Troubleshooting, testing, repair/overhaul, training, and fleet support
Minimum Qualifications:
Active SECRET US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a secret clearance.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Six (6) years of full-time engineering experience onboard submarines in the operation, maintenance, installation, test, or repair of combat systems and/or weapons handling equipment.
Experience in evaluating the material condition of ship systems and implementing corrective action.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Eight (8) years of full-time technical experience in the design, installation, test, or repair mechanical/electrical/electronic systems/equipment.
Proven ability to resolve complex technical issues and lead system-level analysis.
Must be thoroughly familiar with related engineering disciplines (such as electrical. electronic, mechanical, structural, etc.) in order to analyze problems from an overall system viewpoint.
Deep knowledge of Navy systems, specs, and safety regulations
Compensation
The hourly rate for this position is between $45.00 - $52.00 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Service Contract Act (SCA)
This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.
