As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the electrical design, development and qualification of new solid-state components and systems. The candidate must be self-motivated and comfortable navigating uncertainties and customer-driven design requirements. The role requires an understanding of the protection legacy that Littelfuse has established and the ability to collaborate across the business to draw upon that strength. About the Job:

  • Develop and qualify electrical designs for solid-state control and protection components and systems. Establish design details, including stress and tolerance analysis, schematic capture, circuit simulation, and PCB layout.

  • Evaluate technical feasibility and select suitable suppliers for components and processes.

  • Support hands on testing of AC (single phase and three phase) and DC protection systems.

  • Engage with contract manufacturers or in house manufacturing to implement design, prepare design documentation, and evaluate production processes to assure components meet performance, reliability and cost targets.

  • Support occasional travel as required to evaluate suppliers and support production ramp up.

  • Develop and execute protection system component and system qualification and reliability test plans.

  • Provide regular project updates as part of the overall project planning and execution.

  • Other duties as assigned.

About you:

  • MS in Electrical Engineering or BS in Electrical Engineering with equivalent experience.

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience designing analog and digital circuits, including microcontrollers, microprocessors and mixed-signal design.

  • Working knowledge of current sensing technologies, tradeoffs and practical implementation considerations in support of protection and metering requirements.

  • Proficiency in managing systems with embedded firmware or programmable logic, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

  • Experience with meeting best practices for component placement, including circuit card stack up design considerations.

  • Knowledge of power electronics topologies, operation and design considerations.

  • Knowledge of product compliance process, including testing and designing for EMC and product safety approvals.

  • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit, willingness to experiment and be able to manage ambiguity.
