The Division of Facilities Management (DFM)
The Division of Facilities Management (DFM) is a customer-driven support organization responsible for providing facilities management services to the entire CDHS facility portfolio. CDHS has offices and divisions throughout the state's three specific regions (North - Denver Metro, South - Pueblo and Colorado Springs and West - Grand Junction) and comprises 343 buildings, approximately 4M GSF, 1,500/acres spread over more than 20 campuses.
DFM is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operational needs of buildings and grounds, including custodial services. Additionally, the Planning and Technical Services (PTS) team supports CDHS in various areas such as Energy & Sustainability, Fleet, Commercial Leasing, Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) documentation archiving and management, and internal Finance Administration. The Planning, Design and Construction (PDC) team also assists with the development and implementation of the department's Capital Construction planning in collaboration with the Office of the State Architect.
This is an in-person position, Monday-Friday, and requires travel throughout the state.

The primary responsibility of the Deputy Director of DFM is managing facility systems, standard operating agreements, supervising staff, managing budgets, setting operational standards, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This position supports the Division Director in advancing the Division and the agencies' strategic policies and plans within the organization of DFM and CDHS. Position provides divisional leadership and oversight of the Northern, Southern, and Western districts. Serves as a liaison between DFM and CDHS Program directors and management; and to develop, implement, and oversee the tactical plans, report and track data of current DFM operations comparing it to best practices and support of DFM operations, prepare and document facilities best practices standardization on operations, and other resource plans, and related initiatives for the Division. Position reports directly to the Division (DFM) Director.
This position is responsible for operational planning and oversight, including facility management, policies, and procedures. As a member of the DFM leadership team, this position participates in statewide resource allocation, development of policy and standards, and technical review of buildings/infrastructure to determine compliance with standards and program requirements. It develops plans for requesting staff or operational funding, repairs, renovation, or new construction, meeting CDHS program needs.
- The Deputy Director partners closely with the other Department Offices, Divisions, and Support Programs in providing strategic outcomes.
- Resolves conflict and mediates when directing Division work groups on reorganizations that impact their specific work group.
- This position is required to travel throughout the State to all CDHS properties to address operational and project needs.
- The Deputy Director leads the division in the absence of the Division Director

Experience:
- Ten (10) years of experience building systems and infastructures, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, managing a large portfolio, and supervision of a large, diverse staff of trades and professionals, two (2) of which must have included experience with public or business administration, establishing goals and objectives, as well as developing and managing a budget to achieve program goals and objectives
OR
- A combination of related education and/or building systems and infastructures, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, managing a large portfolio, and supervision of a large, diverse staff of trades and professionals, equal to ten (10) years, two (2) of which must have included experience with public or business administration, establishing goals and objectives, as well as developing and managing a budget to achieve program goals and objectives

Current/Valid Colorado Driver's License - Must currently possess and maintain a valid, non-restricted Colorado driver's license.
Travel - This position requires travel to various locations throughout the state in a state vehicle to perform job duties, travel to training and meetings.
Must be willing to receive an annual influenza vaccination or provide a document for a medical exemption or a letter for religious exemption. Must successfully pass a Tuberculosis (TB) test.
Position is required to respond to after-hours emergencies
