Farnsworth Group is seeking a Transportation Structural Engineer Entry Level in one of the below posting locations. In this role, youwill have an opportunity to work with experienced engineers and a variety of transportation structural projects that serve local and nationwide clients. Posting Location(s) for this role: Bloomington, IL, Champaign, IL, Chicago, IL, Peoria, IL, Springfield, IL Job Activities:
- Prepare and develop structural planning, analysis and design for structural aspects of transportation projects that could include: steel plate girders, prestressed concrete, reinforced concrete, substructures, foundations, box culverts, retaining and noise walls, interchange or river structures for highway and railway bridge projects
- Bachelors Degree from an ABET accredited Civil Engineering program, or Architectural Engineering, with a concentration in Structural Engineering required
- EIT Certification, required
- 0 - 3 years of Transportation or Structural experience, preferred
- Project experience in the design and construction of transportation structures preferred
- Experience working with IDOT/ ISTHA projects/ clients preferred
- Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment who can work on and contribute to several projects simultaneously
- Experience with MicroStation and/ or AutoCAD
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Must be willing to work outside in various weather conditions
- The employee must frequently lift and/ or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds
