Rugged Science is a designer and manufacturer of ruggedized, embedded computer systems. We specialize in custom prototype development as well as sustained production runs. Our products combine metal enclosures, computers, displays, and electronics. Rugged Science is looking for a strong candidate to be a key player in fabricating custom metal components for our products.

Responsibilities:

Set up of fiber laser cutter for processing flat sheetsLoad/unload of flat sheets and cut partsMonitor fiber laser cutter for processing errorsProcess cut metal through deburring equipmentSet up press brake for new jobsProcess material through press brakeMonitor press brake for processing errorsInsert PEM fasteners into metal workUtilize various measuring and inspection toolsPerform 1st piece verification off machine prior to releasing productionReview/read blueprints and specsPerform work within expected rates and costsAssist in processing prototypes and special ordersProvide feedback to leadership regarding fabrication limitations and best practicesAccurately track material usage and labor time in ERP system (Global Shop Solutions) Operate laser welder in accordance with safety standards to weld aluminum parts for military products Program robotic arm with laser welder attachment and supervise robot while running

Education/Skills: High school graduate required (Must be at least 18 years of age)

Self-motivatedDesire and drive to keep busyMechanically inclinedMetal working knowledgeTechnology orientedDesire to learn new processesRobotic programming experience (preferred) Must be able to lift 50lbs

Overtime may be required throughout the year with pay at time and a half.
