Responsibilities:
  • Routinely communicate with the Principal regarding project status and key updates.
  • Develop and execute Project Strategic Plans with input from leadership.
  • Implement strategic objectives established for projects within our market sectors.
  • Prepare and negotiate scopes of work and fee proposals with outside consultants under Principal oversight.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules in collaboration with the Principal.
  • Input and update budget and billing forecasts within company accounting systems, working closely with accounting teams.
  • Organize and lead all client meetings and communications throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee the execution of the Project Execution Plan by the Team Lead and project team.
  • Ensure project profitability, adherence to budgets and schedules, and achievement of quality benchmarks.
  • Mentor team members by overseeing work plans and providing guidance to meet project goals.
  • Collaborate with Project Team Leaders and Independent Technical Review (ITR) professionals to uphold quality standards.
  • Coordinate with fellow Project Managers and the Principal regarding resource allocation and workload balancing.
  • Proactively identify and resolve project challenges before they escalate.
  • Maintain close client relationships during and after project completion.
Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Model and reinforce New Fire Native Design Groups principles of collaboration, respect, and excellence.
  • Lead by example, delivering high-quality products on time and within budget.
  • Proactively support client needs and foster long-term, trust-based relationships.
  • Mentor team members to build a strong, capable project team environment.
Marketing and Business Development:
  • Support marketing and business development initiatives, seeking opportunities to improve skills in these areas.
  • Assist the Principal with proposal development, interview preparation, and fee/schedule negotiations.
  • Help secure new work by building strong client connections and demonstrating leadership excellence.
Project Role:
  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for clients throughout each project.
  • Lead project meetings, coordinate deliverables, and drive project team collaboration.
  • Anticipate and resolve project issues proactively, balancing client needs with project goals.
  • Manage the project schedule, budget, and quality control processes from start to finish.
  • Lead or support project meetings with clients alongside the Principal.
  • Review project specifications and develop front-end specifications for construction documentation.
Required Skills:
  • Confident in addressing large groups of project stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting scopes of work, drawings, and specifications.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects simultaneously with high client satisfaction.
  • Strong understanding of the Project Management process from inception to closeout.
  • Adept at consuming work performance data, reports, and metrics to assess project health.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Project); experience in Deltek Vantagepoint preferred.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or closely related field required.
  • Licensed Architect required.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant project management experience across diverse project types.
