The Global Corporate Technology Group is responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting Bloombergs enterprise IT systems. This includes our global corporate network plus all hardware, software and enterprise applications used by nearly 21,000 employees in more than 170 state-of-the-art offices around the world. We focus on enterprise solutions, productivity tools, and IT systems integration which helps move all of Bloomberg's businesses forward.
Our Compute Operations Engineering team drives for user experience and Infrastructure management. Our colleagues depend on us to ensure the stability and integrity of the platforms and domains we manage. Some of the infrastructures we manage are Policy Management, Image Builds, Custom Applications and more. From early on, youll help empower our roadmap, given challenging tasks, lead initiatives, and take ownership and responsibility. In this team and the fast-paced environment we work in, we constantly challenge the status quo and look for ways to improve workflows and introduce efficiencies by automation of day-to-day tasks.
We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, implement, and manage solutions that streamline endpoint management, Windows deployment, and software asset management processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation frameworks, endpoint configuration, and licensing management tools such as Flexera. This role will play a critical part in improving reliability, scalability, and engineering experience across our systems, with a strong focus on eliminating repetitive work through automation.
We'll Trust You To:
- Design, build, and maintain automated systems for deployment, monitoring, and system management
- Improve the reliability and efficiency of our infrastructure through thoughtful automation and tooling
- Identify operational pain points and drive initiatives to automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual interventions
- Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and infrastructure-as-code ( IaC ) assets
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortems with a focus on learning and prevention
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and support scalable, secure, and resilient services in production
You'll need to have:
- 4 + years of experience in operations, Auotmation or DevOps roles
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Systems or Information Technology
- Strong proficiency in automation and scripting ( PowerShell , Python or other scripting languages)
- Experience with System Center Configuration, Directory Services , Intune, Azure , Flexera
- Experience with log aggregation and telemetry tools like Splunk, Humio and Grafana
- An understanding of configuration management and infrastructure-as-code tools
- Experience working within CI/CD pipelines
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in distributed systems
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and capable of juggling multiple priorities
- Excellent communication s kills and a collaborative mindset
Salary Range = 130000 - 225000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
