DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role involves overseeing a team of licensed and trained automotive and diesel mechanics responsible for conducting a range of analytical, preventative maintenance, and repair tasks on a diverse fleet that includes construction equipment, trucks, automobiles, and hand tools. The machinery operated by the team is powered by either gasoline or diesel engines, necessitating hands-on guidance in the repair and maintenance of various systems, including hydraulic, electrical, heating, cooling, and exhaust systems, as well as both manual and automatic transmissions. The supervisor is tasked with managing the mechanics who carry out state vehicle inspections, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing oversight on the completion of work orders. Additionally, the supervisor monitors the time allocated to repairs and compiles reports regarding any equipment accidents or damages, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of journey level mechanical experience in the diagnosis and repair of automobiles, heavy trucks, or construction equipment; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a valid PA Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with Air Brake restriction (L) removed, supplemented by Tank Vehicle Endorsement (N).
  • This position requires possession of an active Class 4 or Class 7 Pennsylvania Inspection Mechanic Certification.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
