Job Description
Pipe layer - duties and responsibilities
A pipelayer is responsible for installing underground pipes for utilities such as water, sewage, and gas.
Responsibilities and Expectations
Laying and directing piping within construction projects to connect buildings and homes to the main water grid.
Inspecting the ground, digging trenches, and sealing pipe joints with cement or glue.
Aligning and positioning pipes, checking slopes for conformance, and connecting pipe pieces.
Using heavy equipment like backhoes and dump trucks to excavate trenches and lay down pipe sections.
Providing work direction and guidance to laborers and coordinating with other construction workers.
Operating light and heavy equipment
Setting braces to support safe work
Good physical condition and strength able to lift-up to 100lbs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Learn and apply new skills provided through on-the-job training.
Complete time -sheet paperworkor electronic submission after the completion of each job.
Always be a good representative for N.A. Manosh. No swearing, no politics, be polite, decent clothing - no dirty clothing at start of day.
Qualifications
Previous construction pipe laying experience is required.
OSHA training would be preferred.
Ability to handle physical workload and manual labor.
Strong attention to detail.
Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in plumbing.
Work Environment: Varied environments including residential, commercial, and construction sites.
