Position Summary
The HVAC Control/Maintenance Technician serves as a skilled licensed mechanic who performs a variety of duties in and around the buildings owned or leased by Martins Point Health Care and has advanced skills in one or more of the building or maintenance trades.
Job Description

Key Outcomes :

  • Performs routine and preventative and proactive maintenance of the Facilities and HVAC Equipment in an efficient and timely manner.
  • May need to respond to emergency HVAC issues nights and weekends.
  • Oversee the building automated controls on mechanical equipment, installs, operates, trouble shoots and verifies functional performance of equipment to meet day to day operational environment for our patients and staff.
  • Repairs and installs updated Energy Management Software.
  • Performs safety checks on facility buildings and grounds.
  • Performs electrical safety check of new equipment.
  • Performs emergency work and repairs in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Assists the Facilities Co-coordinator in the procurement of any supplies and materials.
  • Assists in any renovations, remodeling or repairs to the buildings and the heating, plumbing and/or electrical systems.
  • Is aware of and performs duties pertinent to biomedical and hazardous materials.
  • Performs duties and works independently in his/her advanced skill category.
  • Shares training of advanced skills with co-workers and provides technical instructions on operation and maintenance.
  • Assists Facilities Manager in scheduling repairs, preventative maintenance and replacement of HVAC equipment.
  • Directs and assures timely and accurate performance of the assistant technician job performance.
  • Performs rounds as designated by the Facilities Manager.
  • Responsible for education and training to ensure personal competency as well as that of the Maintenance Technicians.
  • Works with vendors and IT to build a global Energy Management Network.

Education/Experience :

  • 5+ years continuous experience as a licensed Natural Gas and Refrigeration Mechanic preferred.
  • Plumbing and Electrical experience.
  • Must be physically able to perform all duties required.
  • Visual acuity and fine motor skills are needed to perform daily routine tasks.
  • Energy Management System control and software inspection, calibration and installation.

Legal License(s)/Certification(s) required:

  • Valid Maine drivers license.

Skills/Knowledge/Competencies (Behaviors) :

  • General knowledge and experience in all areas of facility maintenance including carpentry, plumbing, heating, machine and equipment repair, grounds keeping, building housekeeping and the practice of good safety habits.
  • Must be able to lift a weight of 50 lbs
