LOCATION OF POSITION: Fairport, NY 14450; Operations and Maintenance
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12-Month, Full-Time Position: 6:00am - 2:00pm
STARTING DATE: As Soon As Possible
STARTING RATE: $18.92 per hour
- Actual salary is dependent on education, experience and contract.
DUTIES:
Ensure safe operation of equipment, while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of others.
Installs, maintains, repairs and rebuilds commercial HVAC equipment. Including refrigeration, air conditioning, forced air and boiler heating systems, heat pumps.
Performing preventative maintenance on this equipment, troubleshoot and maintain the districts building energy management system.
Installs, repairs and rebuilds a wide variety of plumbing including pipes, valves, fixtures, and clearing drain lines.
Troubleshoot and repair ejector pumps and controls.
Maintain commercial swimming pool heating and filtrations equipment. Assists in the operation of chemical feed system.
Installs, maintains, repairs and rebuilds a wide variety of commercial kitchen equipment.
Respond to district emergencies, including after-hours calls and snow removal as needed.
May be required to complete daily reports.
Required to perform other related maintenance functions as required.
Adhere to safety practices and requirements.
Other duties as assigned by the Asst Director or Executive Director of Operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Civil Service eligibility as Maintenance Mechanic I: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus three (3) years of paid full-time or its part- time equivalent experience as a skilled worker in one (1) or more of the electrical, mechanical or construction trades. NOTE: Additional experience may be substituted for the high school diploma on a year-for-year basis.
- Complete knowledge of building construction common practices, terminology, and safety precautions.
- Good personal verbal and written communication skills.
- Good attendance and self-directed worker.
- Display a positive attitude.
- Able to work from plans, specifications and rough sketches.
- Able to follow written and verbal communications.
- Physically able to perform essential functions of the postion (with or with out reasonable accommodation) including, but not limited to:
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling
- Standing, stooping, bending, crouching, squatting, kneeling, and/or reaching.
- Transporting tools, equipment and supplies to job site
