HVAC Commercial Installation Project Manager
Overview
Helios HVACR Services, LLC, the largest self-performing HVACR commercial services provider in North America, is hiring a Project Manager to join its Projects and Installation Operations team. The ideal candidate will be an HVAC Project Manager that can initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close out projects supporting business objectives according to deadlines within budget. We are looking for a candidate who can effectively manage risk, maximize profits, and further our customer relationship.
Responsibilities and duties
- Actively pursue and acquire new business through developing and maintaining strong client relationships, presentations to clients, understanding of proposed project plans, specs, and other contractual documents.
- Lead and manage 1-3 travelling HVAC installation teams, consisting of 3-5 Installers per team, in the site survey, execution, and completion of commercial HVAC installations throughout the continental U.S.
- Prepare project estimates, budgets, schedules, and assist in project contract negotiations. Monitor adherence to the above through attendance at job site meetings, progress reports, cost reports, performance evaluations, inspections, and working closely with field crew supervision.
- Participate in the conceptual development of projects and oversee organization, scheduling, and execution while working closely with owners, general contractors, architects, and engineers to resolve design related construction issues.
- Purchase major HVAC equipment (when required and Job is approved) and other materials for projects. Plan, organize, direct and coordinate workforce, equipment, tools, and supply needs to achieve project objectives.
- Manage administrative aspects of contracts (change orders, rental equipment, coding, billing and expenses, collections, etc.) by working closely with administrative staff and accounting, communicating all financial details to appropriate parties.
- Responsible for plan submittals, quoting, project permitting, and inspection compliance.
- Complete job closeout process including resolution of punch list items, recording of as-built drawings, test and balance report filing, and warranty items.
- Perform all reasonable actions to ensure the project is successful, on-time, and on or under budget.
- Attend meetings and functions as required.
- Perform additional assignments as requested by management.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Minimum 5 years of experience directly managing unit replacements and new installations.
- HVAC experience required
- Ability to effectively read and understand mechanical plans, specifications, and construction bulletin details.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving, strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer and Microsoft application skills.
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, and works well under pressure.
Helios HVACR Services, LLC's compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $75,000 to $95,000, based on job-related knowledge and experience. Compensation may also include annual bonus and sign-on payments, as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
