Bulldozer Operator

About the Role:

The Bulldozer Operator at our Huntersville, NC location plays a critical role in the successful completion of construction and land development projects by expertly operating heavy machinery to move earth, clear land, and prepare sites for building. This position requires precision and attention to detail to ensure that grading and excavation meet project specifications and safety standards. The operator will collaborate closely with site supervisors and other equipment operators to maintain efficient workflow and project timelines. Additionally, the role involves routine inspection and maintenance of the bulldozer to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Ultimately, the Bulldozer Operator contributes significantly to the foundational stages of construction projects, enabling subsequent phases to proceed smoothly and on schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid heavy equipment operator certification or equivalent training.
• Proven experience operating bulldozers in a construction or land development environment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and site layouts.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations related to heavy machinery operation.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks and work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with GPS and laser-guided bulldozer technology.
• Additional certifications in heavy equipment operation or construction safety.
• Familiarity with basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Previous experience working on large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects.
• Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities:

• Operate bulldozer equipment to move soil, rocks, and debris according to project plans and specifications.
• Perform site preparation tasks including grading, leveling, and clearing land to facilitate construction activities.
• Conduct pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance on the bulldozer to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Collaborate with site supervisors and other heavy equipment operators to coordinate tasks and maintain project timelines.
• Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly to management.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment usage as required.
