General Summary

The Heavy Equipment Instructor will train students to have the knowledge to operate heavy equipment obtain a career in the transportation industry.

Specific Position Duties:

Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal regulations concerning operations of commercial motor vehicles

Provide classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction

Train students in the basic operations of various combinations various heavy equipment

Responsible for recordkeeping and data entry

Ability to work in all types of outside weather conditions

Ability to perform a wide range of motion and mobility tasks involving climbing, crawling, bending, pulling, and lifting in teaching and demonstrating operation procedures

Willingness and ability to teach various courses times, locations, and delivery methods, as needed and as reasonably requested by the college; Deliver material in a clear and understandable manner

Maintain effective relationships with professional counterparts throughout the college and the community

Comply with all college, state, and local procedure, rules, and regulations

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma

Three or more years of Heavy Equipment Operation
