Job DescriptionIndustrial Wastewater Treatment Operator General Services, Carrollton GA
Responsibility of the Water Plant Operator is the daily operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant.
1. Production of the discharge water that meets applicable effluent limits as stated by current NPDES Permit.
2. Production of quality make up water for use in the plant production processes
3. Operate and perform maintenance on all equipment in area of responsibility
4. Ensure proper supply and adequate inventory is on hand at all times
5. Consistently meet permit requirements for copper, TSS and pH for discharge
6. Document daily operating conditions and record readings in the appropriate computer system and investigate irregularities
7. Collect Samples required for daily analysis & ensure that all containers are properly labeled and maintain equipment in proper working conditions
8. Maintain an up to date Safety Data Sheet Book and ensure all activities are adequately annotated properly for compliance purposes
9. May be required to work weekends or holidays as needed
Education Requirements
1. High School Diploma or GED with Chemistry and math, or previous lab experience is desired
2. Meet or exceed educational requirements through TABE locator
Experience Required
1. A strong aptitude for chemistry and extensive experience in a laboratory setting are highly preferred. Critical thought in support of collaborative problem solving from both a chemical as well as mechanical standpoint will be a plus. As such, interpersonal skills are also of critical importance to this role.
2. Must have developed working knowledge of all the production procedures at the Rod Mill facilities
Training & Certifications
1. Drivers License and ONE (or more) of following certifications through the State of Georgia Secretary of State: Water Operator Class 1, Wastewater Operator Class 1, Certified Water Laboratory Analyst or Certified Wastewater Laboratory Analyst.

1. Must be able to endure a great deal of standing, walking and bending
2. Must use all safety equipment and PPE required to perform each job safely
