Senior Civil Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and management of civil engineering projects including roadways, storm drainage, water, wastewater, and site development.

• Serve as project manager overseeing budgets, schedules, client communications, and regulatory compliance.

• Prepare and review engineering reports, design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents.

• Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS (steady/unsteady state, dam-break analysis).

• Manage AutoCAD Civil 3D design tasks including grading, utility layouts, and plan production.

• Coordinate with survey teams for boundary, topographic, and site surveys.

• Mentor and train junior engineers, providing technical guidance and project oversight.

• Interface with municipalities, contractors, and permitting agencies to ensure compliance with codes and standards.

• Support business development by assisting with proposals, client presentations, and maintaining client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).

• Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain within 6 months).

• 8+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project management.

• Strong background in municipal infrastructure projects (roadways, drainage, water/wastewater).

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and ArcGIS.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with clients, agencies, and internal teams.

• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.

• Experience with state or local municipalities is a plus.
