Overview

Location: Harleyville, SC

Pay is dependent upon experience and will be discussed during the consideration process.

Reporting to the Production Coordinator, the PCS will supervise the daily activities of the production shift employees ensuring all activities are performed within safety and environmental guidelines. The PCS will also operate all plant process lines and related auxiliary equipment from a central location ensuring the safety of all employees and integrity of the company assets.

Role & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Provide safety leadership for the shift, housekeeping, and operating equipment within environmental guidelines.
  • Perform all job functions in a safe manner complying with all Plant, Company, State, Federal and MSHA regulations.
  • Provides guidance, coaching, and instruction to shift employees as required.
  • Manages performance of all shift employees providing timely feedback and following the performance management cycle.
  • Troubleshooting problems, making operational decisions, taking corrective actions, and leading the shift in continuous improvement.
  • Consistent production of all cement, clinker and raw mix within established quality guidelines ensuring appropriate actions and communication for any deviations.
  • Continuously analyze equipment and system performance to ensure optimum reliability, production and product quality
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain accurate shift log of all activities in PPW including documenting reasons for equipment down time, product quality information, and a general report of the shift's performance and operational issues.
  • Participate in and successfully complete Control Room Operator Certification program.
  • Responsible for employee development and training for all employees on their shift.
  • Effectively manages employee resources to maintain efficient plant operation, utilizing call-outs and contractors if necessary.
  • Acts as senior leader on site during off-hours maintaining communication with the management team as required.
  • Responsible to initiate effective cross-shift and departmental communication.
  • Ensure shift administrative functions are carried out such as work order creation, validating employee timesheets, attendance/vacation tracking, payroll time entry.
  • Present a positive and professional attitude.

Educational Level: Associates degree preferred.

Technical Knowledge and Certifications:

  • Training: Cement Manufacturing.
  • Technical knowledge and certifications: HMI screens, Aspen IP21, Pavillion, and Plant Focus, SAP.

Area of Experience: Cement Manufacturing Experience

Languages: English proficiency required
