Truck Mechanic Job Description We are seeking an experienced mechanic to lead and install new equipment onto vocational, refuse, and service trucks. The role involves performing preventive maintenance on lift kits, snow plows, trucks, and roll-off dumpsters. A significant portion of the work will focus on hydraulics, as snow plows and roll-off dumpsters require hydraulic systems for movement. Additional tasks include wiring trucks, running controls into cabs, body swaps, wheelbase adjustments, and some custom fabrication/welding. The electrical work will be up to 12 volts. Responsibilities Lead the installation of new equipment onto vocational, refuse, and service trucks. Perform preventive maintenance on lift kits, snow plows, trucks, and roll-off dumpsters. Focus on hydraulic systems for snow plows and roll-off dumpsters. Wire trucks and run controls into cabs. Conduct body swaps and wheelbase adjustments. Perform custom fabrication and welding. Handle electrical work up to 12 volts. Essential Skills 2-5 years' experience as a mechanic on larger equipment/trucks. Own basic hand tools. Hydraulic repair and maintenance experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in the refuse industry. Skills in brake repair, troubleshooting, diesel repair, welding, and electrical work. Why Work Here?
