- Create fabrication drawings, flat-patterns, layouts, and detailed drawings for production.
- Apply principles of form, fit, and function to develop components with speed and precision.
- Assemble complete drawing packages, including installation instructions and sub-component views.
- Design practical and manufacturable assemblies using input from samples, sketches, and engineering guidelines.
- Build and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) using standard office tools or ERP platforms.
- Document engineering processes and maintain standard work instructions.
- Ensure all designs comply with drafting standards, industry regulations, and production needs.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as production and purchasing to meet project deadlines.
- Proven experience in mechanical design for manufacturing.
- Proficiency in CAD software and adherence to design standards.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and BOM management.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 1+ year of experience with 3-5 years within a related industry (custom metal fabrication, power generation and energy, data center infrastructure, enclosure systems, etc).
- Experience with sheet metal.
- Sheet metal design and fabrication.
- Background in custom manufacturing or job shop settings.
- Integration of BOMs within ERP systems.
- Outgoing personality and strong collaboration skills.
