Controls Design Engineer Responsibilities
  • Carry the design or hardware controls portions of projects from concept to completion.
  • Design from base concept to completion in AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Edit, redline, and explain details to customers and teammates.
  • Work in an ERP system, such as EPICOR.
  • Collaborate closely with teams including sales, project managers, mechanical engineers, technicians, and electricians.
  • Interface with customers as needed.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to design, read, edit, and thoroughly understand control systems and schematics in AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly EPICOR.
  • Customer interface experience.
  • 4-5 years of applicable experience if no degree; 2 years if a degree is held.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • BSEE preferred.
  • PLC programming skills.
  • Experience in design and electrical design.
  • Familiarity with Rockwell, Allen Bradley PLC, HMI programming, and Fanuc.
Work Environment

The work environment includes a modern, up-to-date HQ facility with windows throughout the offices and collaboration stations. The shop floor is clean and temperature-controlled. Travel is minimal, with a maximum of 10% travel, scheduled 2-3 weeks in advance. Flexibility is a key aspect, with the possibility of working from home recognized as important, although not offered in the initial months unless necessary. The facility is equipped to provide a fresh and comfortable working atmosphere.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr.
