Williamsburg Marine, a division of Patrick Industries, is looking to add a CAD Designer to their team in Milford, IN. The CAD Designer is responsible for developing clear, accurate, and production-ready product designs that meet customer specifications and manufacturing standards. The CAD Designer will collaborate directly with internal teams to translate ideas into detailed part and assembly drawings, maintain organized print files, and ensure all documentation is properly formatted and up to date.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Product Design - Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for marine furniture parts and assemblies based on customer specifications, internal standards, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Sales Collaboration - Work closely with the sales team and management to understand the customer needs, incorporate design feedback, and ensure final drawings meet functional and aesthetics expectations.
  • Print Organization - Use numerical order for all prototype prints, alphabetical order for productions prints and maintain revision files in the same folder as the corresponding part number for traceability.
  • Print Accuracy - Ensure all drawings include clear, concise, and complete descriptions, with correct dimensions, tolerances, materials, and callouts as required.
  • Revision Management - Clearly document all revision changes on updated prints, and ensure previous versions are properly archived for reference.
  • Print Instructions - Include detailed and relevant instructions on all drawings to guide production, assembly, and quality control.
  • Standard Compliance - Follow internal design standards and drawing conventions to ensure consistency across the engineering department.
  • Cross-Functional Communication - Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure that CAD outputs align with manufacturing capabilities and workflow needs.
  • File Management - Maintain an organized CAD file system that supports efficient access, retrieval, and backup of all design files and associated documentation.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience as a CAD Designer or Draftsperson in a manufacturing environment; marine, furniture, or custom fabrication experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in CAD software
  • Strong understanding of drafting standards, tolerances, and material specifications.
  • Experience working with revision-controlled design processes and product documentation.
  • Experience with marine-grade materials and furniture design.
  • Familiarity with file management systems and engineering change processes.
  • Knowledge of prototyping and production transition workflows.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply customer requirements into practical, manufacturable designs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
