Job Description

The Construction Superintendent is tasked with ensuring the safe completion of projects within budget, on schedule, adhering to high-quality standards, and achieving customer satisfaction. This role involves safety compliance, craft supervision, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, material handling, daily reporting, quality control, and craft training.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety is properly incorporated into job planning and execution, promoting accountability among staff and subcontractors.

  • Maintain high-quality standards for all work, addressing repetitive quality issues with subcontractors or vendors.

  • Develop and implement pre-job plans, making necessary course corrections.

  • Participate in project scheduling to ensure alignment with job planning.

  • Coordinate and supervise all company workforces, including hiring and firing hourly paid personnel.

  • Develop and mentor Assistant Superintendents, Coordinators, Engineers, Foremen, and craft persons.

  • Conduct personnel evaluations and recommend promotions, transfers, or terminations.

  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, holding weekly scheduling meetings.

Essential Skills

  • Experience managing or overseeing the installation of low voltage building systems.

  • 3 to 7 years of experience with Electrical/Low Voltage Systems.

  • Experience in Communications Systems Installation Supervision.

  • Experience in Outside/Inside Plant Cabling Installation Supervision.

  • Experience in Structured Cabling Systems Installation Supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • PMP or BICSI - RTPM certification.

  • BICSI Certified Cable Installer or RCDD certification.

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business.

  • Professional accreditations such as DBIA or LEED.

  • Experience as a Security Systems Integrator, Audio Visual Systems Integrator, or Communication System Integrator.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $113000.00 - $161000.00/yr.

This position is eligible for company-paid medical insurance, life insurance, accidental death & dismemberment, long-term disability, 401(K) retirement plan, and our employee assistance program (EAP). Hensel Phelps also believes in the importance of taking time to recharge. As a result, employees are eligible for paid time off beginning upon hire. Based on position location, a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) may also be included (subject to periodic review and adjustment).
