Title: Design Engineer - DistributionLocation: Remote (excludes certain restricted states)Hire Type: Contract-to-HireHourly Pay Range: $30-$43/hr (based on experience)Job Summary:Sterling Engineering is seeking a Design Engineer - Distribution for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This is an entry-level engineering position with no prior work experience required, offering the chance to gain hands-on experience in utility distribution projects while working fully remote.Job Duties:Conduct preliminary reviews and markup evaluations.Provide mentorship and support to entry-level drafters and engineers.Ensure project scope, schedule, and deadlines are met.Apply knowledge of utility locates and safety requirements, including proper PPE usage.Collaborate with team members effectively in a remote environment.Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.Proven ability to work independently and remotely while maintaining communication with the team.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Familiarity with utility safety concerns.CAD and technical skills to address simple markups and redlines.Software Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Schedule:Fully Remote, 40 hours per week.Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
