Job Summary

Nuclear Electrician I

This is the entry level in a progressive job series responsible for performing electrical work assignments associated with learning the electrician position in construction, installation and maintenance of machinery and equipment at the station. Assists in locating routine faults on electrical installations. Assists in the installation, operation and maintenance of electrical equipment. Cleans, paints, maintains and repairs electrical equipment, parts and sub-assemblies. Uses basic shop equipment for simple operations. Assists in cleaning, maintaining and verifying operation of certain circuit breakers as assigned. Maintains and repairs test equipment, tools and construction equipment. Assists in the operations of crane and hoists, and performs routine rigging required in the work. Assists in performing various electrical inspections and tests, and reports conditions found, routine alignment of motors and related equipment.

Nuclear Electrician ll

This is the second level job in a 3 level job series. Performs electrical work activities associated with the construction, installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and plant systems. Locates faults on electrical installations, determines work to be done and makes necessary repairs. Installs control and switchboard wiring and equipment, operates and maintains complicated electrical equipment. Conducts surveillances on fire equipment, station batteries and other equipment governed by station technical specifications. Verifies that quality-controlled instruments are kept in calibration and are accounted for. Performs work direction functions related to electrical maintenance work to ensure compliance with Station Administrative Control Procedures, NRC requirements and technical specifications. Provides input to the Team Leader and Maintenance Support Services for on-line and outage planning activities. Interprets complex wiring diagrams and blueprints. Plans and performs control wiring addition/removal on control circuits which are either energized or in close proximity to other circuits which are energized, modifications to electrical control boards where accuracy and appearance are critical. Reads, interprets and prepares installation write-ups from production plant elementary, schematic, wiring and interconnection diagrams.

Nuclear Electrician lll

This is the third level in a 3 level job series. Performs electrical work activities associated with the construction, installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and plant systems. Locates faults on electrical installations, determines work to be done and makes necessary repairs. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:

Nuclear Electrician l

At least 1 year of related experience. This level requires some knowledge of electrical work such as experience gained in a high school technical program. Must be able to perform the responsibilities and tasks of the position to accurately read, interpret, and comply with company/department procedures, provide attention to detail, and to minimize errors. Must be capable of working with mechanical tools and able to learn the plant systems and their functions pertinent to plant administrative requirements. Must also be able to investigate, analyze data, and repair problem electrical equipment in accordance with established procedures.

Position requires maintaining unescorted plant access qualification, maintaining enclosed volume and radiation worker qualifications, and supporting non-core work schedules (night shift) to support the needs of the plant. Individual must be able to meet the physical job requirements of this position and support the department's shop on-call responsibilities.

Nuclear Electrician ll

This level requires a minimum of two years of related experience. Must be qualified and able to perform the responsibilities and tasks of the position to accurately read, interpret, and comply with company/department procedures, provide attention to detail, and to minimize errors. Capable of working with mechanical tools and working knowledge of plant systems and their functions pertinent to plant administrative requirements. Position requires maintaining unescorted plant access qualification, maintaining enclosed volume and radiation worker qualifications, maintaining Station Emergency Response Organization (SERO) qualifications, and supporting non-core work schedules (night shift) to support the needs of the plant. Individual must be able to meet the physical job requirements of this position and support the department's shop on-call responsibilities.

Nuclear Electrician lll

This level requires a minimum of four years of related experience. Must be qualified and able to perform the responsibilities and tasks of the position to accurately read, interpret, and comply with company/department procedures, provide attention to detail, and to minimize errors. Capable of working with mechanical tools and working knowledge of plant systems and their functions pertinent to plant administrative requirements. Position requires maintaining unescorted plant access qualification, maintaining enclosed volume and radiation worker qualifications, maintaining Station Emergency Response Organization (SERO) qualifications, and supporting non-core work schedules (night shift) to support the needs of the plant. Individual must be able to meet the physical job requirements of this position and support the department's shop on-call responsibilities.

Education Requirements

Required Degree:

High School Diploma or GED

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014, Section 4.5.7.1 and 4.5.7.2

Education requirements: High school diploma

Minimum experience for the position:

Related experience 1 yr.
