Backhoe operator-Site utilities

Pipe X is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Site Utility Backhoe Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for operating a backhoe to dig trenches, excavate, and support utility installation and site development projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working around underground utilities and a strong commitment to job site safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate backhoe and other heavy equipment to perform site utility tasks, including trenching, excavating, grading, and backfilling.

Dig around existing utilities safely and accurately.

Assist in the installation of water, sewer, storm drainage, and other underground utilities.

Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance.

Follow site safety protocols and procedures at all times.

Work closely with site supervisors and utility crews to complete tasks according to plans and specifications.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of experience operating backhoes on utility or construction sites.

Knowledge of safe digging practices and OSHA excavation standards.

Ability to read and understand utility plans and blueprints.

Strong awareness of underground utility markings and protection.

Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required).

Must be dependable, punctual, and a team player.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical labor.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with other equipment (mini excavator, skid steer, etc.).

OSHA 10 or 30 certification.

CDL Class A or B.
