Heavy Equipment and Excavator plays a key role in supporting environmental remediation and soil management projects. This position involves safely operating excavators and other heavy equipment while also performing hands-on fieldwork, including climbing soil piles and moving sprinklers to perform bioremediation action.

Responsibilities
- Operate large wheel loader excavators 35k-50k or larger to dig, load, and move soil for environmental cleanup and remediation projects at Shamrock Richmond Bioremediation Facility.
- Excavate, handle, and transport both contaminated and non-contaminated soil in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Exit equipment as required to climb soil piles and manually move sprinklers or irrigation systems to support bioremediation activity. Piles are up to 40 feet high and not a uniform/smooth walking surface.
- Assist with soil sampling, staging, and transporting materials for disposal or treatment.
- Ability to climb, lift, and perform physical tasks outside of equipment operation.
- Ability to work in dust, dirt, strong smells and fumes on a daily basis.
- Lift 40-60 pound bags of fertilizer and add to nutrient tank for bioremediation mix solution (can be done by others).
- Perform daily equipment inspections, maintenance checks, and safety logs.
- Clear communication and collaboration with supervisors and crew members to complete projects meeting all safety standards.
- Meeting all timelines for projects safely .
- Adhere strictly to Shamrock Environmental' s safety policies, OSHA standards, and environmental compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of experience operating excavators or other heavy equipment is required in an environmental service is preferred.
- Ability to climb, lift, and perform physical tasks outside of equipment operation.
- Ability to work in dust, dirt, strong smells and fumes on a daily basis.
- Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred).
- OSHA, HAZWOPER, or other environmental safety certifications a plus
- Must be able to work overtime when needed and weekends.
- Willingness to travel, work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Safe and efficient excavator and heavy equipment operation.
- Knowledge of soil excavation methods and environmental remediation practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong awareness of site safety and compliance requirements.
