Summary
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for performing specialized electrical maintenance work such as; installing and repairing electrical systems and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment; while performing various types of general maintenance work, and following lockout procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
Performs specialized maintenance and troubleshoots electrical equipment and systems, replacing faulty electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
- Performs general and preventative maintenance work.
- Sets up and operates machinery including but not limited to saws, drill presses, and pipe threaders.
- Follows lockout procedures for each piece of equipment serviced.
- Ensures safety and housekeeping standards are met and maintained.
Qualifications
The following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School education or equivalent
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Industrial Electrical License
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree in Electrical Studies or equivalent experience
- 4+ years experience in electrical maintenance, including knowledge of electrical maintenance principles, basic electronics, electrical circuitry, pneumatics, and the ability to read schematic diagrams
