Overview

REI is seeking an experienced Sr BIM Manager to drive the overall BIM strategy for the Store Design Teams. This role is responsible for building and maintaining a centralized digital library in Revit to facilitate the production of store design documentation from internal and external teams. The Sr BIM Manager must possess an extensive understanding of BIM principles and practices, as well as a working knowledge of the various disciplines involved in the store development process. This role is accountable for the implementation of BIM processes throughout the Design and Construction deliverables. The Sr BIM Manager works in partnership with key internal stakeholders including the Architectural Design Lead, Store Planning, Concept Design, Store Operations, IT, Asset Protection, Visual Merchandising, Real Estate and Construction to deliver a brand appropriate customer and employee experience. The Sr BIM Manager is also responsible for supporting and influencing programs, strategic initiatives, and value engineering efforts that support the Co-op’s strategic direction. The ideal candidate is a creative and proactive problem-solver, natural relationship-builder, planner, and strategic thinker. Additionally, this role is responsible for fostering a culture of continuous improvement to deliver against the strategic goals for the Physical Place team.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

This role requires advanced knowledge of BIM practices and store design development . The ideal candidate applies advanced principles, documented processes, and strategic thinking while overseeing projects with high levels of ambiguity and budget complexity . They can use a wide range of strategies, concepts , and previous experience to determine a course of action and deliver independently on projects that are both tactical and strategic . They plan and prio ritize daily tasks to be performed independently that align with REI initiatives and direction from Leadership .

Functional Responsibilities :

  • Drives the overall BIM strategy for Store Design to include developing BIM execution plans, BIM standards, design workflows, tools, and processes.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining the Design Catalog and Cat egory Management block families in Revit ( ~250 families) .
  • Responsible for the implementation of naming conventions and classification systems.
  • Respon sible for driving the workflow strategy to address design documentation challenges and increase the span of control for the Store Design T eam.
  • Responsible for developing the Store Design standard operati ng procedures, documentation standards, and BIM training for Store Design Team.
  • Manage s software licensing budget with IT and is accountable for pursuing new tools to support business objectives .
  • Responsible for staying up to date with system and software releases to ensure all tools continue to operate properly for internal design teams and external AORs.
  • Engages in internal fixture development processes and manage s i nformation workflows to drive the develop ment strategy of BIM content for Concept Design Team deliverables .
  • Manages the development and budget of the Architectural Prototype Set, overseeing the internal change management workflows into regular releases.
  • Provides support during the annual budgeting process (schedule and resources) for BIM projects.
  • Responsible for providing guidance and support to define team processes and procedures.
  • Tracks and manages the scope of work performed by design consultants, in accordance with M aster Service Agreement , project contracts and schedules, and S ervice Level Agreements .
  • Responsible for managing the consulting fees to meet the project budget.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of store design experience in a complex retail environmentdemonstrating experience in the development and implementation of BIM standards and strategy.
  • Extensive knowledge of the store development process.
  • Expertise in Autodesk AutoCad, Revit, BIM 360 and common Revit plug-ins (Dynamo, Ideate, etc.).
  • Fluency in reading construction drawings and communicating scope and design intent to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in relevant design software, including Sketchup, , Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, Mural and Figma.
  • Demonstrated skills in relevant software for effective management and tracking of projects, such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Smartsheet.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and in groups.
  • Experience managing consultants and/or vendors and ability to articulate business impacts and decisions.
  • Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain budgets, schedules, and deadlines on multiple projects concurrently.

Pay Range

$85,400.00 - $120,700.00 per year
