Job Description

Join our team as an HVAC Helper on commercial construction sites, where you will assist experienced HVAC technicians in various tasks. This role involves general labor duties such as cleaning, moving materials, and supporting HVAC technicians by holding or measuring materials. You will work closely with a journeyman-level HVAC technician, performing necessary tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the site.

Responsibilities

• Assist HVAC technicians on commercial construction sites.

• Perform general labor tasks such as cleaning and moving materials.

• Hold and measure materials for HVAC technicians.

• Work alongside journeyman-level HVAC technicians, completing tasks as required.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of commercial labor construction experience.

• Ability to take direction well and perform assigned tasks efficiently.

• Reliable transportation to travel between jobsites.

• Proficiency with hand and power tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in the trades is advantageous.

• Familiarity with rough carpentry and general labor tasks.

• Knowledge of HVAC installation in commercial settings.

Work Environment

Work in new, unheated construction buildings located in Dane County. Join a team of 2-4 crew members, with a work schedule from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm, expecting to work around 45 hours per week. The start time may vary slightly and will be communicated by the lead. Dress appropriately for the weather and construction site conditions, with leather ankle boots preferred. Utilize tools such as pouches, tape measures, hammers, tin snips, and screwdrivers.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $29.00/hr.
